Reports said the youth identified as Abhishek D’Souza had been frequently messaging a girl in the locality and harassing her for long.

When the matter came to the knowledge of the local villagers, they held a court at the village at which the accused was ordered to be beaten with sandal as his punishment for the crime.

Subsequently, the girl took out the sandal from her feet and began raining sandal blows on his face and his bare body wounding him baldy, witnesses said.

In the video, the villagers are heard telling the girl to beat the man with full force on his face. In the end, the accused was told to spit on the ground and lick it which he did without any protests. The accused is allowed to leave only after he promises not to harass any girl in future.

“The accused had been involved in human trafficking for long. He had been trapping the innocent girls on the pretext of marrying them but was handing them to the human traffickers,” the villagers told the local media.

The local villagers, however, have not reported the matter to the police saying it would tarnish the image of their village.

Village courts have gone quite active in Bihar in recent months. They have not only been meting out crude justice but also imposing various curbs, indicating how the masses have turned to street justice with the police allegedly going slow in their mater.
