PATNA: Rabri Devi, former Bihar chief minister and wife of RJD president Lalu Prasad, today declared her party would not allow the House to function until Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi resign.
She accuses both the leaders of being involved in Rs 1,000 crore Srijan, a Bhagalpur-based NGO, scam.
“We will not allow the House to run until Nitish Kumar and Modi resign. How can one expect a fair investigation till when they continue in office?” she asked.
For the past three days since the monsoon session of the Bihar state legislature started on Monday, Rabri Devi has been seen constantly shouting slogans against the present government in the House and seeking their resignation.
Rabri who is a member of Upper House has been leading the charge in Bihar Legislative Council while her both sons, Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, have been leading the attack in Bihar Legislative Assembly.
The Rs 1,000 crore Srijan scam came to light earlier this month after a government cheque of Rs 270 crore bounced.
Reports said the cheque was meant to be paid to farmers in lieu of their land for a power plant. An internal inquiry was conducted and the District Magistrate discovered that the government account did not have enough funds, the quint reported.
