Woman prisoner sent to Muzaffarpur hospital for treatment gang-raped in washroom



PATNA: A woman prisoner was allegedly gang-raped by cops in the state-run hospital in Bihar in another embarrassment to the state government.

The incident took place at Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur district on November 14 but was reported in media only today.

Reports said a woman prisoner arrested on the charges of kidnapping had been sent to the hospital for treatment when two cops allegedly gang-raped her in the toilet.

The woman was lodged in the Sitamarhi jail and reported the matter to the jail authorities after being sent back to the jail form the hospital.

The police have registered a case and are probing the matter.

Muzaffarpur is already in the eye of storm after 34 girls were allegedly gang-raped at a child care home. The matter is being investigated by the CBI.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court monitoring the probe of the case transferred the remaining 16 cases related to the care home sexual abuses in Bihar to the CBI.
