PATNA: Taking a harsh stand towards the liquor mafias, the Bihar government today declared to burn dowm vehicles caught carrying alcohols.
“We will destroy the vehicles caught transporting liquor,” Bihar prohibition minister Abdul Jalil Mastan told the media today.

So far, the state government had been destroying only the seized liquor but spared the vehicles caught transporting them.
The move, thus, is indeed a big decision of the state government to crack down on liquor smugglers.
The government took this decision apparently perturbed at the frequent seizure of liquor on a very large from Bihar now declared a “dry” state.
Bihar enforced total prohibition in April last year to honour long-pending demands of the women folks.
Interestingly, the state government had been earning a total revenue of around Rs 4,000 crore per year by sale of liquor.
