PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad is shocked and shattered at the crushing defeat of the SP-Congress alliance in UP elections and has decided to keep Holi a low-key affair.
“Let the BJP celebrate Holi this time. We will celebrate the real Holi after defeating the BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” Prasad told his supporters late last evening.
The RJD chief is still to come to terms after the devastating blow of the secular alliance at the hands of the BJP which created history by making a clean sweep in the UP polls.
All through the day on Saturday when the results were announced, he didn’t come before the media. Late in the evening, though, he came to launch an attack on the BJP and questioning the authenticity of the EVMs.
He said he had never expected such defeat for the secular alliance and accused the Narendra Modi-Amit Sah duo of luring the common masses by making false promises.
Prasad had earlier predicted a humiliating defeat for the BJP in the UP polls and announced to make “bonfire” of BJP after poll outcome.

Last year, it was a special Holi for Prasad as his party had come to power after a gap of 10 years with both his sons becoming ministers in the Nitish Kumar government.
