PATNA: Away from routine catcalls and usual hungama, the Bihar state assembly was witness to some real light moments on Friday when former Leader of Opposition sung a hit Bollywood number to show his love for his now friend-turned-foe chief minister Nitish Kumar.

“Ham to tere aasique hain sadiyon purane, chahe tu mane chahe na mane (I’m your fan for long whether you believe it or not),” was how ex Opposition leader Nand Kishore Yadav of the BJP recited this famous number from 1967 Hindi spy thriller ‘Farz” starring Jitendra and Babita.

Yadav recited this number while raising his starred question in the House, bringing sudden smile on the face of the rather serious-looking chief minister.

Without explaining much, Kumar reminded Yadav how he has now refused to offer him ‘Tilkut’ (a variety of local sweet) though he would usually do this while he was in his government.

Now, it was time for the BJP leader to pass the buck. “Now, Mukhya Mantriji doesn’t like such sweets…he loves ‘something’ else now that he has joined the company of RJD chief Lalu Prasad,” quipped Yadav, evoking peals for laughter once again.

The relation between the BJP and JD-U is known to all after both fell apart more than two years back. It has always resulted in strong protests, heightened tension and usual ruckus in the House yet both sides have just refused to forget their “old association”.
