“Lalkeshwar Prasad, (his wife) Usha Sinha, Baccha Rai and I were running the racket,” Chandra reportedly told his interrogators.
He revealed Prasad would give only verbal orders which the officials would have to follow.
According him, they were charging Rs 15 lakh (Rs 1.5 million) to make topper and Rs 10 lakh (Rs one million) for handing pass certificate to a student who had failed the examination.
With Chandra arrest, the total number of people arrested so far in this case has gone up to 17.
“The scam was conducted at four level,” Patna’s senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj told the media today.
