PATNA: It seems to be a tit-for-tat brand of politics going on between the RJD and its arch-rival BJP in Bihar.
Apparently as a counter to RJD’s proposed mega rally in Patna in August, the BJP has planned a rally of firebrand party leader and UP chief minister Yogi Adiyanath in Patna later this month or early next month.
As per the plan, the BJP will be holding rallies in Patna and Nalanda simultaneously to challenge both RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his ally, chief minister Nitish Kumar.
While Yogi will address the rally in Patna, his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya will hold rally in Nalanda, the home district of Bihar chief minister.
“We have planned for these rallies but their dates are yet to be finalized,” state BJP chief Nityanand Rai told a local news channel today.
According to BJP insiders, the strategy has been chalked out at the level of BJP chief Amit Shah. The BJP rally in Bihar has been planned to mark completion of three years of Narendra Modi government in power.
The RJD has already planned to hold “BJP Bhagao, Desh Bachao” rally at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on August 27. All prominent opposition leaders from across the country have been invited at the RJD rally aimed at forming unity among the opposition.
Two of the leaders, such as West Bengal chief minister Miss Mamata Banerjee and BSP chief Miss Mayawati have reportedly consented to attend the RJD rally.
