Train services disrupted after man found sleeping by placing cot on railway track
PATNA—In a bizarre incident, a villager in Bihar was found sleeping after laying a cot on the Delhi-Howrah main rail route, raising serious safety concerns.
The high-voltage drama took place near Banahi railway station which falls between Patna and Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay junction, previously known as Moghulsarai junction, on Friday evening.
According to railway officials, the Guwahati-bound North East Express coming from Delhi was moving through this line when its driver noticed a man placing a cot over the railway track and calmly lying on it.
The driver instantly informed the senior railway officials who alerted the local railway staffs.
Very soon, Station Master of Bihia railway station Akhilesh Kumar rushed to the spot but by the time, he reached the spot the man had gone missing from the scene although his cot was still lying by the track.
Due to the incident, the movement of several trains including Rajdhani Express remained disrupted on Friday. The man is yet to be identified.
