PATNA: In a bizarre incident, a woman examinee gave birth to a baby boy right in the examination hall yesterday in the eastern Indian state Jharkhand.
Media reports said hardly had Bharti Kumari, 21, who was appearing for the third year Bachelor of Arts examination, reached her examination centre at Saria College when she went into labour pain.

She was hurriedly taken to a separate room even as the college authorities also called in a medical team from a neighbouring nursing home.
However, by the time the media team could reach there, she had delivered a baby boy, authorities said. The mother and the baby were soon taken to the nursing home in an ambulance and were released in the afternoon as both were in good condition.
“We are grateful to the God that both mother and the baby are safe,” the centre superintendent Arun Kumar was quoted as saying in the English daily Hindustan Times.
Kumari, a resident of Jitkundi village, had come to take examination with pen and pencils but she returned home with a baby in her arms.
Authorities say she may have developed labour pain owing to bumpy road she covered on an auto-rickshaw to reach the exam centre.
“Anyway all is well that ends well,” exclaimed Kumar.
