Tension in Bihar town over anti-Pakistan slogans

PATNA: Around 12 people were wounded in a clash between two groups of people shouting slogans for and against Pakistan in Bihar, prompting the police to tighten security measures.

The incident took place at Dehri-On-Sone town in Rohtas district.

Reports said a group of people was going to immerse idols of Lord Krishna on Wednesday night after Janmastami festival when someone from the crowd started shouting slogans like “Pakistan down down”.

The local media reported that sharply objecting to such slogans, the rivals group attacked the slogan-shouting people, leading to violent clashes in the areas.

The tension grew further after the rival camp also threw stones at a local Hindu temple.

The entire Dehri town remained closed today in view of the prevailing tension in the areas.

Keeping in view prevailing tension, heavy deployment of police force has been deployed in the areas.

Senior police officials were also camping at the site. Officials said the situation is tense but under control.
