‘Tejashwi Yadav will not resign, Nitish Kumar is free to take any decision’

PATNA: The RJD lawmakers have stoutly ruled out the possibility of resignation by Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav who has been named as an accused in the land-for-hotel scandal by the CBI along with his parents.

The RJD which is a coalition partner in the Nitish Kumar government is headed by Lalu Prasad.

The lawmakers are unanimous in their decision that Tejashwi should not resign and dared the thief minister to take his own decision.

“The chief minister is free to take his decision but Tejashwi will not resign,” a senior RJD leader told a TV news channels.

“Tejashwi will not resign. Why should he?” asked another RJD lawmaker Surendra Prasad Yadav. He represents Belaganj  seat in Bihar assembly.

Another legislator Ramanuj Prasad Yadav asked, “Tejashwi kyon denge istifa? Sarkar chalti rahegi”.

They contended that the deputy chief minister has made an accused in the case under a “political conspiracy”.

The legislators are attending a meeting at the residence of Prasad to debate over the issue.

The meeting assumes significance in the light of reports that the chief minister is not against allowing his tainted colleague to continue in his cabinet.

The chief minister has maintained mysterious silence over the issue ever since the CBI raided Tejashwi premises on Friday and also named him an accused in the case.
