The top court gave the order after hearing a petition filed by a man, whose three sons were allegedly killed on Shahabuddin’s orders.

Shahabuddin, a former lawmaker from Lalu Prasad’s RJD, is accused in over 50 criminal cases.

The don-turned-politician had walked out of jail on September 10 after 11 years of incarceration following the bail granted by the Patna High Court.

RJD is a key coalition partner in Bihar’s ruling grand alliance that also includes Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United.

The opposition had accused the Chief Minister of indirectly helping Shahabuddin secure bail from the court under pressure from the RJD.

Denying the allegation, the Bihar government later moved the Supreme Court to challenge the bail granted by the High Court.

However, the court reprimanded it, asking whether it was in slumber till the politician got bail.
