PATNA: “Super 30” fame Bihar mathematician Anand Kumar has landed in serious trouble with the Gauhati High Court issuing him the notice to appear before the court in person on November 26.
The court also warned of issuing warrant of arrest against him if he ignored this order.
“We hereby direct that respondent No.8 shall remain present in the Court in person on the next date of listing. In case respondent No.8 does not appear on the next date of listing, we shall be constrained on issuing bailable warrant of arrest for his production,” the court said in its order. Anand Kumar is the Respondent No.8 in the case.
The order came on a petition of four students from northeast questioning transparency in the functioning of the “Super 30”, a free coaching institute upon which a movie featuring Hrithik Roshan has also been made.
“…most of the time, the Respondent No.8 roams to different places in India and outside India and doesn’t devote sufficient time to the IIT aspirants who took admission in the Ramanujam School of Mathematics…Whenever IIT results announced, the Respondent No.8 appears before the Media with some of the students of the Ramanujam School of Mathematics and other students and claims that they are Super 30 students and qualified in the IIT exam. The false propaganda created by the Respondent No.8 is not only cheating the IIT aspirants and their guardians but also the common people of this country including the people from the northeast,” the petitioners alleged in their petition, according to a news website.
Super 30, a highly ambitious and innovative education programme, runs under the banner of the Ramanujan School of mathematics.

Only the selection of students for “Super 30” is said to be the key to the success in the highly competitive IIT-JEE exams such has been the reputation of this institute
In the past 17 years since it came into being, this free coaching institute has helped 445 unprivileged children fulfill their long-cherished dream of cracking the prestigious IIT entrance examination.
