Street dog walks away with amputated leg of patient from Bihar hospital

PATNA: A loitering street dog entered into the operation theatre of a government hospital in Bihar and walked away with the amputated limb of a man who had suffered serious injuries in a train accident.

The horrible incident took place at a government hospital in Buxur district on Sunday evening.

According to a report in the local media, Ramnath Mishra, a resident of Ara town in Bhojpur district, was boarding a train at Buxur station which his feet slipped and he came under the train. He suffered serious injuries in his feet and hands.

Subsequently, the railway police rushed him to the local Sadar hospital in Buxur town where the doctors amputated one of his legs keeping in view the seriousness of the situation.

Right in the meantime, a street dog walked into the operation theatre and walked away with the amputated limb, reports said.

Later the hospital staffs searched for the dog but failed to trace him. The local civil surgeon told the local media that the amputated leg was of no use.

The victim succumbed to his injuries later.
