‘Sons, not daughter, will be our political heir,’ says former Bihar CM Rabri Devi

PATNA: Former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi today said sons would be their political heirs.

Rabri, a member of Bihar Legislative Council, is wife of RJD president Lalu Prasad who is celebrating his 69th birthday today.

She made these remarks while interacting with media persons who had come to cover Prasad’s birthday celebrations which were also joined by chief minister Nitish Kumar.

“Misa (Bharti) has been sent to Rajya Sabha. For her, sasural (in-laws’ house) is the first priority. This home belongs to our sons and they will be our political heirs,” Rabri told the media on being asked who would be their heir.

She though added the rein of family politics would remains in their hands till then they are alive.

Clarifying further she said, both sons and daughter would together do politics.

Earlier, Prasad too had said sons are the natural heir when expelled RJD parliamentarian Pappu Yadav claimed he was his real successor.

Right now, both their sons, Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, are ministers in the Nitish Kumar government. While Tejashwi is deputy chief minister, Tej Pratap is health minister.
