The Bill is to be passed in the next session of the Parliament.
According to the NDTV report, the parliamentary committee has suggested that the salary of parliamentarians be raised from Rs. 50,000 to Rs 100,000 a month and a constituency allowance from Rs. 45000 to Rs 90,000.
If the committee’s proposal are accepted, the total compensation package for a parliamentarian will go up from existing Rs 140,000 to Rs 280,000 a month, it added.
