Customers worried as General Motors shuts down three of four showrooms in Bihar

PATNA: With the General Motors—a leading multinational American automobile company—deciding to stop selling cars in India, shutters have fallen down on three of the four company’s showrooms in Bihar, adding to the worry of the people who purchased cars form the company.

The company had four showrooms in each part of the state—one in Purnia, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and Patna—all doing brisk business.

Suddenly, three of the company’s showrooms are closed now with customers being the worst suffers.

Annoyed customers from other parts of the state are now compelled to visit Patna for every problem—for servicing to buy vehicle parts.

As such, only Pandey Motors, an authorized dealer of the company located Patna, currently functions now but reports said this too will be closed by December this year although company authorities say their service centre will function for the next five-seven years.

Reports said the company was selling an average of 70 to 100 cars every month in Bihar until GM decided to shut down business in India.

As per reports, some 20,000 people own various models of General Motors cars. Although the company sold various models of cars yet Beat and Tavera were very popular among the customers.
