Setback for Bihar politicians: Shahabuddin, Lalu, Bindi- all face the music for past ‘sins’


PATNA: The court is doing what they had never expected from others.

Mighty politicians and their kin from Bihar are receiving serious setbacks from the court for their alleged involvement in crime and corruption.

The politician to get fresh setback is RJD president Lalu Prasad whose petition seeking transfer of his fodder scam case to some other court has been rejected by the Jharkhand High Court, according to a report published in Hindustan.

Prasad had filed a petition in the High court seeking transfer of his case from the court of CBI judge Shivpal Singh. In his petition, he alleged the judge was not behaving properly with his witnesses and said he doesn’t expect justice from him.

However, the Jharkhand High Court rejected his petition finding no merit in his complaint. the case.

Yet another politician Mohammad Shahabuddin suffered a major jolt when the Patna High Court on Wednesday upheld the life sentence awarded to him in the killing of two sons of a Siwan-based businessman by giving an acid bath. He is from the RJD.

Last week, he was also charge-sheeted by the CBI court in the killing of a Hindi journalist Rajdeo Ranjan. Shahabuddin is currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail.

Another RJD politician Raj Ballabh Yadav too has been pushed behind the bars for allegedly raping a schoolgirl at his home in Nawada. Initially, he was given bail by the Patna High Court but the Supreme Court canceled it.
