PATNA: Four naxalites were killed in an encounter with the police in Bihar today. The encounter took place in Gurpa forests in Gaya district.
Acting on a tip-off that rebels have gathered there, a team of CRPF commandoes rushed there.
However, seeing the cops, the rebels started firing. The cops too returned the fire, leading to heavy gun-battle which ultimately left four Maoists killed.
The cops also recovered many arms and ammunition from the spot and are conducting the search operation to nab the fleeing rebels.
This is the first major encounter with the rebels since the new year began.
