Islamabad: A contingent of Russian ground forces reached Pakistan on Friday to participate in the first ever Pak- Russian joint exercise.
Earlier, it was being speculated in the media that the Russia has cancelled the exercise in view of terrorist attack on army base in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.

The joint exercise will commence from September 24 and will continue till October 10, officials said.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Asim Bajwa tweeted: “A contingent of Russian ground forces arrived Pak for 1st ever Pak- Russian joint exercise (2 weeks) from 24 Sep to 10 Oct 2016.”
