PATNA: Rightwing activists today purified the statues of prominent Indian personalities by washing them with holy Ganga water in Bihar a day after JNU Student Union leader Kanhaiya Kumar offered floral tributes to them during his visit to the state.
Kumar had on Thursday addressed a meeting in the BSS Collegiate ground in Begusarai district and also paid floral tributes to the statues of great personalities.
“The very ground and the statues located therein got defiled owing to the visit of a traitor like Kanhaiya and hence we purified by washing them with holy Ganga water,” said the angry activists from Akhil Bhartiya Vidyathi Praishad (ABVP) and Bajrang Dal.
The activists also sprinkled water on the ground to “purify” the meeting ground. They also chanted sentences like “Afzal Guru ke dalal swaha” during havan which they also conducted.
