PATNA/New Delhi: Bihar today said thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the ATM withdrawal limit was hiked to Rs 10,000.
“It’s a wonderful decision of the Modi government. It’s a major relief for all of us. We are happy,” exclaimed a local resident Rajiv Kumar Singh.
He said he PM had announced to increase the withdrawal limit by the beginning of the new year and he had lived up to his promise.
Giving relief to people across the nation, the Reserve Bank of India on Monday increased the daily withdrawal limit from ATMs to Rs10,000.
“The limit on withdrawals from ATMs has been enhanced from the current limit of Rs4,500/- to Rs10,000/- per day per card (It will be operative within the existing overall weekly limit),” the RBI said in a statement.
The Bank said the limit on withdrawal from current accounts has been enhanced from the current limit of Rs50,000 per week to Rs100,000 per week and it extends to overdraft and cash credit accounts also.
Withdrawal limit from ATMs were reduced after the Centre on Nov 8 announced its move to ban old Rs 500 and Rs1000 currency notes.
