Railway track turns blood red as speeding train runs over flock of sheep in Bihar

PATNA: More than 150 sheep were killed as a speeding express train ran over them early Wednesday morning.

The incident took place at Bhirakhi railway bridge near Dauram station in Madhepura district, some 250 km north of Patna.

Reports said the shepherds were carrying their sheep through the railway bridge when the Saharsa-Jaynagar Janaki Express suddenly came on the track, running over the domesticated ruminant mammals.

The incident left the tracks littered with the amputated body parts of the sheep, virtually turning the track red.

Soon after the incident, the shepherds fled the scene, apprehending legal action by the police.
