Rahul Gandhi’s utterances lack maturity, alleges BJP

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday hit back at Rahul Gandhi, minutes after the Congress vice President joined opposition leaders in slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi over currency ban issue, and said his ‘uttarances’ lacked ‘maturity’.

“Every day it is becoming evident, Rahul Gandhi’s utterances are lacking maturity,” Union Minister and BJP Leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said while addressing a press conference here.

Attacking Rahul over the 2G and coal scams, Prasad said: “He should give answers on these issues.”

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday jointly attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his currency ban move.

Mamata Banerjee, who is in New Delhi, called the current situation in the country following the note ban as ‘super emergency’.

“Super emergency is going on,” Banerjee said while addressing a press conference with Rahul Gandhi beside her.

She said the country’s ‘banking system’ has been destroyed by the demonetisation move.

“50 days are nearly over, what will happen now?” Banerjee asked.

“In case the restrictions are not lifted after 50 days as it was earlier assured, will you take responsibility and resign?” the Trinamool Congress supremo asked Modi.

Rahul Gandhi said the currency ban could not hit the trouble of corruption.

“It left  people without any money,” Gandhi said.

“It is a complete failure on part of the government,” he said.

Gandhi said Modi should explain the corruption charges leveled against him.

“Why is there no investigation against ‘Sahara diaries’ and emails addressed directly to the then Gujarat chief minister?,” Rahul Gandhi asked the Prime Minister.
