Shimla: Shimla and few other parts of Himachal Pradesh remained cut-off by road from rest of the state for the third consecutive day on Monday because of heavy snowfall, reports said.
The season’s first snowfall that started on the night of January 6 has thrown normal life out of gear, disrupting road traffic and snapping power.

More than a feet of snow lay heaped on many roads in Shimla, the “Queen of hills,” and Manali, another popular tourist destination while the chill in the air kept mercury down in the sub-zero level causing tap water to freeze.
Several tourists reportedly remained stranded in Shimla while many vehicles got stuck up on roads, the reports said.
