Pragya Thakur’s statements condemnable, can’t be tolerated, says Nitish Kumar
Prgya Thakur has passed insulting remarks against Mahatma Gandhi
PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday condemned the statements of BJP candidate from Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur who had passed insulting remarks against Mahatma Gandhi.
“Her remarks can’t be tolerated,” Kumar told the media on Sunday, though describing it as the internal matter of the BJP.
Pragya Thakur had described Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, as a patriot although she apologized for her remarks later.
At the same time, Nitish Kumar said he couldn’t compromise on the issues of crime, corruption and communalism.
He added his party was totally against abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution and implementation of Uniform Civil Code.
He also added that the Ayodhya issue should be resolved through mutual understanding and dialogues.
Strangely, Kumar made these remarks only after the campaign of the Lok Sabha elections are over. Kumar’s JD-U has not released the poll manifesto this time.
