Post Gurugram: Bihar private schools told to conduct police verification of staffs


PATNA: The state government in Bihar has asked all the private schools across the state to conduct police verifications of all its staffs to stop violence against children in the school premises.

The move has been taken in the light of recent gruesome killing of an eight-year-old student in Ryan International School, Gurugram. The victim family hails from Madhubani district of Bihar.

As per the advisory being issued to all the private schools, it will be mandatory for the schools to install CCTV cameras on the school campus, make fire safety arrangements and fit all the school buses with tracking devices to get their clear locations.

“We are very serious about the well beings of school children and are issuing such advisory very soon,” Bihar’s additional director general (headquarters) SK Singhal was quoted as saying in local newspapers today.

Apart from these, the private schools are being told to arrange for complaint boxes in the school campus to enable the parents/guardians put in their grievances, if any, against the schools.

The complaint boxes will be opened in the presence of school principals, teachers and education department officials, reports said.
