PM Modi stops at Bangkok to pay respect to late King Bhumibol Adulyadej

New Delhi/Bangkok: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Thai capital Bangkok on Thursday, en route to Japan, according to media reports.

Narendra Modi stopped briefly in Bangkok to pay his final respects to late King Bhumibol Adulyadejalso known as King Rama IX.

The world’s longest reigning monarch, the Thai king passed away on Oct 13, 2016.

The Indian PM reached the Dusit Maha Prasat at the Grand Palace to pay his respects before mortal remains of King Rama IX.

“Paying tribute to one of Asia’s tallest leaders. PM lays wreath, pays respects to the mortal remains of late King Bhumibol Adulyadej,” tweeted Vikas Swarup, official spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs.

The PM also inscribed a message of condolence at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
