Panic as Maoists announce ‘death sentence’ to six villagers in Bihar

PATNA: Suspected Maoists in Bihar have announced death sentence to six persons, accusing them of being police informers and being involved in corrupt practices.

The rebels made these announcements by pasting hand-written pamphlets at various places in Bangalwa village which falls under Ladaiyatand police station in Munger district on Wednesday night.

Through the pamphlets, the Maoists have announced to serve death punishment to Mohammad Shamsher, Madari Sao, Sanjay Yadav, Jaiprakash Yadav, Mohamamd Abbas and Mohammad Aurangzeb, according to reports in local media.

The police have seized the pamphlets and begun investigation into the matter.

Police believe this could be the mischief of some anti-social elements. Yet they have taken the matter very seriously given the fact the entire area is badly infested with naxal activities.
