The police official said the girl might have been killed on Monday night and is yet to be identified.
A police official in charge of the investigation said the girl was shot in her head by the criminals and that the police have recovered a used cartridge from the site of occurrence.
The incident has caused wide outrage in the area with the panicky local villagers asking the government to put a check on the fast deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Bihar has reported close to 6,000 rape cases in the past five years. This year more than 1,100 incidents of rape have been reported till September month.

The incident comes amid the people across the country protesting on the streets outraged over the rape-cum-murder of a 25-year-old veterinarian in Hyderabad a couple of days back and seeking for tougher law to deal with the rapists on the rampage.
Some of the Indian parliamentarians, such as Samajwadi Party’s Jaya Bachchan, DMK’s P Wilson and TMC’s Saugat Roy have sought for “crude” punishment to the rapists to tame such cases.
Jaya has demanded that the rapists should be “brought out in public and lynched” while Wilson said the court should be empowered to “castrate” the convicted rapists. Roy, on the other hand, demanded that the rapists should be hanged.
