PATNA: The issue of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) test paper leak scandal rocked the Bihar assembly on Monday with the opposition seeking a CBI probe into the matter.
The opposition led by the BJP pressed for the CBI inquiry after it emerged that some politicians were also allegedly involved in the scam now being probed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police.

“Accusing fingers are now being pointed at the leaders. Hence, the matter should be investigated by the CBI and the names of the accused politicians be made public,” asked Bihar opposition leader Prem Kumar of the BJP.
The SIT probing the scandal has arrested 34 persons so far, including BSSC chairman Sudhir Kumar, IAS, and secretary Parmeshwar Ram.
The case was handed over to the SIT after the question papers of the clerical examination being conducted by the BSSC went viral in the social media well before the test was to begin.
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar also cancelled the examination after reports of the paper leak.
Patna’s senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj who heads the SIT has described it as the one of the most challenging cases he came across.
“It was one of the most challenging cases as it was a blind case with multiple linkages. Establishing the link was a major challenge as it involved bigwigs,” Maharaj said in an interview to the Hindustan Times on Sunday.
According to him, initially there was problem in interrogating the people as it involved many high-profile people.
