Now, Bihar grants 35 percent reservation to women in allotment of PDS shops


PATNA: There is another good news for the women in Bihar.

The Nitish Kumar government in Bihar has announced to grant 35 percent reservation to women in allotment of public distribution system (PDS) shops.

The government made this announcement on Wednesday to mark the International Women’s Day.

Right now, there are 42,000 PDS shops in Bihar. Of them, the government is yet to allot 13,681 shops.

The state government has now asked the senior officials to make allotment of these shops after following the new reservation system.

The government has already granted reservation to women in three-tier local bodies’ polls, police job, teaching jobs and all government jobs.
