PATNA: Normal life was partially hit in Bihar as Left parties and others began nationwide shutdown to protest the demonetization on Monday.
In several parts of the state, the Left parties stopped trains, blocked roads and took out protest marches on the streets as life was partially hit in the countryside.

The shutdown impact was hardly felt as the ruling parties stayed away from the protest.
While the JD-U led by Nitish Kumar decided to stay away from the shutdown, RJD and the Congress too maintained distance from the “Bharat Bandh” at the last moment.
Instead, they took out “Akrosh march” across the state to register protest over the inconvenience caused to the common following scrapping of high-value currency notes.
“We are not against the currency ban, rather we are against the inconvenience caused due to the note ban,” RJD chief Lalu Prasad was quoted as saying by a senior party leader today.
