PATNA: The much-flaunted human chain programme of the Bihar government against dowry has run into further trouble as various teacher organisations have now announced to boycott the campaign.
The first among these is Bihar Secondary Teachers Struggle Committee (BSTSC) which has appealed to the teachers to boycott the govt campaign.
The BSTSC is angry at the way the state government has moved the Supreme Court against Patna High Court’s order to pay equal salary for equal work and also failed to clear the backlog of salary pending for the last five months.
“The state govt is victimizing the contractual teachers in many ways. Hence we appeal them to boycott the govt campaign,” BSTSC ‘s media incharge Santosh Srivastava said.
The Teaching and Non-teaching Employee Union affiliated to state degree colleges too has decided to boycott the human chain over govt’s failure to ckear the grant pending for the past seven years.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the union held on Tuesday, union’s state convener Rajiv Ranjan told the media today.
