Nitish showers bounties on Muslims on India’s 71st Independence Day


PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today made scores of announcements for the minority class people on the occasion of 71th Independence Day.

“The government will provide scholarship to the students passing Fauqania and Maulvi examinations under Madarsa Education Board with first division,” the chief minister announced while unfurling the tri-colour at the Gandhi Maidan on Tuesday.

He also announced to improve the condition of Madarsas affiliated to the Bihar State Madarsa Board, construction of multi-purpose buildings on waqf land at the district level, construction of residential schools for minority children and launch of special scheme for welfare of Dhunia, Rangrez and Darji communities.

The chief minister also announced to hike the annual budget of Minority Employment Loan Scheme up to Rs 100 crore and increase in financial assistance to the Muslim women abandoned by their husbands.

The chief minister made as many as 16 announcements on this occasion with majority of them related to the Muslim community.
