Nitish police’s move seeking details about RSS, 18 affiliates triggers political storms in Bihar

PATNA: A letter purportedly written by the Bihar Special Branch seeking details about the RSS, ideological mentor of the BJP, and its affiliates has triggered major political row in Bihar.
The letter which has gone viral in the social media asks the Special Branch officials to gather details of the RSS and its 18 associated and submit the report soon.
The letter was written in May end, barely two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to taken oath but has surfaced this time, adding further tension in the NDA.
The JD-U headed by the chief minister washed its hands off all controversy but the RSS and BJP leaders have reacted very strongly to this move.
“Why use the police to get information about us? You should have directly approached us,” a senior RSS Ajit Kumar Singh told the media on Wednesday.
“It seems Nitish Kumar is disillusioned. The act is highly condemnable,” he said.
Several BJP leaders also slammed the Bihar government for this move. “The government move surely is not in the interests of the alliance. The central leadership will have to take a decision in this regard without any delay,” demanded BJP’s youth wing national vice-president Santosh Ranjan Rai.
