PATNA: The ruling Janata Dal United (JD-U) in Bihar today made it clear it had not taken any decision to project Nitish Kumar as the Prime Ministerial candidate.
The clarification comes after a severe defeat of the JD-U in recent assembly elections to five states where the party failed to open its account.

“The party has not taken decision nor taken any resolution to project Nitish Kumar as PM candidate,” JD-U’s national general secretary KC Tyagi told the media in Patna today.
He was talking to reporters after a meeting of party’s office-bearers held at the official residence of chief minister Nitish Kumar.
This was the first meeting of the party after Kumar took over as the new president of the JD-U, replacing Shard Yadav.
He said the party can’t do anything if leaders across the country continue rallying behind Kumar, describing him as a “PM material”.
According to him, the chief minister has appealed to all secular parties to come together in a bid to fight “communal forces” saying none can fight the BJP alone.
