Nitish Kumar free to pull out of the alliance but Tejashwi will not resign: Lalu

PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad today against rebuffed the JD-U for seeking resignation as well as clarifications of his deputy chief minister son Tejashwi Yadav over the issue of corruption.

“The case (of corruption) has been registered by the CBI and we will give our clarification to the investigating agency. But, why the JD-U? Is it the police?” asked RJD chief Prasad.

He also rejected the JD-U’s demand for resignation of Tejashwi saying “He will not resign”.

He claimed the chief minister never even discussed the issue of resignation as is being publicized in the media.

To a query, he replied it was they who made Nitish Kumar the chief minister and now up to him to decide where he carried their burden or not, referring to brouhaha over corruption charges against them.

Tejashwi also mocked the issue of corruption raised by the JD-U.

“Laluji was already facing the charges when the JD-U entered into an alliance with the RJD,” he explained, amply indicating the JD-U was looking for excuses to pull out of the alliance and join the company of the BJP.

He added they built the alliance with much difficulty and would not let it break from his side.

“However, Nitish is free to pull out of the alliance if he wants to,” Prasad said.

He also reportedly said the he was aware of the growing proximity between Nitish Kumar and the BJP.

“I am aware of the growing bonhomie between Nitish Kumar and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). I know BJP is desperate to ally with Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)),” news agency ANI quoted Prasad as telling the media.
