Nitish Kumar is chief minister because of Lalu Prasad, says SP general secretary Amar Singh

PATNA: Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh today said it is just because of RJD president Lalu Prasad that Nitish Kumar continues to be the chief minister of Bihar.

He described it as a “greatness of Lalu Prasad” who offered the CM post to Kumar despite his RJD being the single-largest party in Bihar.

“It’s a greatness of Laluji that he offered the CM’s throne to a man (Nitish Kumar) who sent him to jail,” said Singh who was on a visit to Patna on Saturday.

He also praised Kumar, describing him as a “man of principles”.

“But, Nitish Kumar should also know that if he happens to be the CM it’s because of Lalu Prasad,” he added.
