Nitish Kumar announces to install statue of second BJP leader in Bihar


PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday announced to install a statue of BJP leader late Arun Jaitley in the state.

Kumar also said the birth anniversary of late Jaitley would be observed as state function every year.

The chief minister made these announcements at a function organized in Patna on Saturday. The chief minister was known to have personal relations with Jaitley who died on August 24 after prolonged illness.

Earlier, the chief minister had announced to install a statue of former prime minister and BJP leader late Atal Bihari Vajpayee after he died last year.

“Vajpayeeji always tried to unite the society and respected the Opposition. I am fortunate to have worked with him,” was how Kumar had said then.
