‘Nitish was found guilty of theft. He too must be disqualified from politics like me’: Lalu

PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad has sought disqualification of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar from politics after the Delhi High Court fined him for plagiarism.

“I was disqualified for contesting elections after conviction in fodder scam. Nitish Kumar too has been found guilty of theft and fined for plagiarism. He too must be disqualified from politics on similar ground,” Prasad demanded.

The Delhi High Court has imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on Kumar for plagiarism charges.

The court passed the order on a complaint petition filed by a former JNU scholar Atul Kumar Singh who accused the chief of plagiarsing contents from his research papers.

Hitting at the chief minister, Prasad said the former should face similar action as other students are caught cheating in the examination.

“The CM has been caught for getting published other people’s works in his name. It’s now all well known,” Prasad was quoted as saying in the Hindustan Times.

Prasad’s son and former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav too took potshot at the chief minister over the issue and asked what kind of example of morality he has set in public life by getting published research papers of others in his name.
