PATNA: Former JD-U lawmaker Lallan Ram was today suspended from his party for violating the liquor ban in Bihar by gulping mugs of beers.
The party axed the leader soon after a video of Ram drinking beer went viral in the social media.
In the video, he was also heard saying nothing could happen to him as he has the muscle power and blessings of chief minister Nitish Kumar.
He was currently working as the organizational secretary of the party.
The actions follows hours after police registered a case against him with the Amba police station in Aurangabad district and then arrested him for violating the liquor ban.
The arrested leader, however, said the video is “doctored” adding he had become a victim of conspiracy hatched by his rivals.
