PATNA: A delegation of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders headed by Sushil Kumar Modi, former deputy chief minister of Bihar, today met the Governor and handed a memorandum, seeking cancellation of controversial RJD leader Mohammad Shahabuddin’s bail.
“The state government should immediately move the Supreme Court seeking cancelation of bail granted to Shahabuddin by the Patna High Court,” Modi demanded, addressing a press conference in the BJP office today.

Shahabuddin was released on bail on Saturday after 11 years of captivity.
Seeking regular monitoring of the cases pending against Shahabuddin, Modi further demanded for formation of a special cell headed by an IG-rank official for regular update on the pending cases.
He also sought adequate security to the families of murder victims and witnesses. “There are at least two murder cases where Shahabuddin was alleged to be involved and hence the victim families are living are constant panic after release of the RJD leader,” Modi said.
Further, he sought speedy trial of all cases related to Shahabuddin and imposition of Crime Control Act (CCA) against the later.
