“The death of children has become an annual feature in Muzaffarpur. Therefore, it needs your attention to tackle the disease on priority basis,” mentioned Dr Thakur in his letter to the PM adding he had watched the disease occurring for the last 15 years.

“So, it will be ideal if you can make a visit to Muzaffarpur at this critical time and announce some financial help to the victims’ families since they are mostly poor,” Dr Thakur said.

He also suggested the Prime Minister to announce setting up of a good biochemical laboratory like any Central Government Institution with multi specialty facility in Muzaffarpur to sooth the public ire.

According to Dr Thakur, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar was heckled and forced to leave in hurry when he visited Muzaffarpur on June, 18.

“People are very angry over death of their children in Bihar. So, it’s time, the PM should pay a visit to Muzaffarpur and meet the victims’ families,” suggested Dr Thakur adding “It will hardly take you one hour time apart from time spent in travelling”.
