Muslim youth planning to marry sixth girl arrested in Gopalganj

PATNA: Police in Bihar have arrested a man who was trying to get married for the sixth times after rejecting his five wives.

The arrested man has been identified as Nejamuddin Ansari, a resident of Balua Tola village under Yadopur police station in Gopalganj district.

The last time the man had got married was on November 17 to get his fifth wife Zarina Khatoon.

Barely a week after marriage, however, he rejected his fifth wife and began planning for marrying another girl.

Acting on the report that her husband was trying to dupe another girl, her fifth wife informed the police which swung into action and arrested the accused yesterday.

The man was loitering with his girl friend at the Maunia Chowk in Gopalganj town when the police raided the place.

“Nejamuddin had married many girls in the past and left them later. We arrested him while he was trying to get married for the sixth time,” a woman police official Sarita Kumari told the media today.

According to the police, the accused had earlier married girls at Ekderawa, Barauli, Barauli Zaddi and Gumania villages while the fifth marriage took place at Pakhopali village.
