Modi minister shouts at villagers, tears posters when reminded about his broken promise


PATNA: Union minister of state for health and family welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey came under severe criticisms after he was caught on camera misbehaving with a group of protesters seeking improvement in health system.

The shocking incident took place in Bihar’s Buxur district which is the home constituency of the minister who hails from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Witnesses said the villagers armed with banners and posters had gathered outside an official building in Buxur town on Friday trying to remind the minister about his unfulfilled promises when he lost his cool on seeing them.

“In a fit of rage, the minister misbehaved with us, pushed us aside and tore apart our posters after snatching from us,” one of the protesters told a TV news channel.

Reports said the minister had promised the villagers to make operational the newly-bought ultrasound machine at the Buxur sadar hospital when they met him two months back. The machine had been lying defunct for the past 10 months.

However, he forgot his promises and it was to remind him about the promise that the villagers had come to meet him.
