Modi Cabinet expansion: Why Bihar ministers should thank Prime Minister
PATNA: In a surprise move, none of the eight ministers from Bihar has been dropped from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi ministry during the massive cabinet expansion excise carried out today.
There were wide speculations of quite few ministers from Bihar to be dropped from the Modi Cabinet for their “poor performance”, “controversial statements” or “loosening grip over the voters”.
Of them, the names of Giriraj Singh, Ram Kripal Yadav, both from the BJP and Upendra Kushwaha who heads the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) were doing the rounds.
The debate had picked momentum especially after the recent Bihar assembly elections where they failed to transfer votes of their respective castes, leading to humiliating defeat of the NDA in the polls.
Unexpectedly, however, they all survived.
Experts say the ministers should now indeed thank the Prime Ministers for retaining them.
Right now, there are at least ministers from Bihar in the Modi Cabinet.
They include- Ram Vilas Paswan, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Radha Mohan Singh, all cabinet ministers, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ministers of State with Independent Charge, Ram Kripal Yadav, Giriraj Singh and Upendra Kushwaha, all Union Ministers of State.
All these ministers have their political cases in Bihar.
