PATNA: Angry mob in Bihar thrashed four labour inspectors suspecting them to be “child-lifters” in a latest incident of mob attacks which have alarmed the state.
The shocking incident took place in Shivsagar bock of Rohtas district on Thursday. The victim officials were launching campaign against child labours when the incident took place.
According to a report in the local media, the inspectors were conducting raids on the shops and roadside Line Hotels employing child labour when they came across a child labour and asked him to sit in their Scorpio vehicle.
The moment they sped away, the local villagers gave a hot chase to them suspecting them to be child lifters, caught them and assaulted badly. The mob also damaged their vehicles.
They managed to save their life after some local villagers came to their rescue.
This is the second incident of mob attacks on officials in the past few days. Earlier this week, angry mob had assaulted two scientists in Kaimur district.
The victim geologists were conducting survey of mineral resources in the area when the villagers mistook them as child lifters and attacked them.
