PATNA: RJD president Lalu Prasad’s eldest daughter Misa Bharti who was elected to Rajya Sabha yesterday denies she is only the daughter of her father; rather she says she is the daughter of the whole Bihar.
“I’m not only the daughter of Lalu Prasad but the daughter of whole Bihar,” Misa said in an interview to a local vernacular daily.

She claimed she had grown amidst troubles and was very well aware about how to handle the challenges.
“My first priority is development of Bihar for which I will undertake a fight from streets to the parliament,” she said.
She also announced to contest the next general elections due in 2019 although her Rajya Sabha term expires in 2022.
“I lost the last LS polls from Patliputra from only a small margin and will again contest the next elections. The RJD president too has announced about this much in advance,” she added.
She is also quite serious about the issues concerning the women and wants to take steps to make them self-reliant so that none could call them as “bechari” (helpless).
Misa is the second member from her family after her father to reach the Rajya Sabha although her maternal uncle Subhash Yadav too has been nominated to the Upper House by the RJD.
His father also elected to Lok Sabha quite many times from Chapra and Madhepura seats but as of now he stands disqualified from contesting elections following his conviction in the multi-million dollar fodder scam.
Thus, Prasad had the urgency to nominate someone from his family to the Rajya Sabha to represent his party there.
In the last 2014 polls, Prasad fielded both his wife Rabri Devi and daughter Misa from Saran and Patliputra seats but none won.
